Today’s miners use a wide range of innovations and modern technologies – including remote-operated machinery and artificial intelligence – to provide the materials and resources required for nearly every industry. From electric vehicles to smart phones and energy production, we need mining to maintain every aspect of our way of life. In feeding the world’s supply chains, U.S. mining provides more than 400,000 direct jobs across the U.S. and more than 800,000 indirect jobs. Each direct mining job is high-paying and high-quality, with excellent benefits and opportunities for advancement. Often miners make more than $85,000 a year, and many employers provide tuition assistance to obtain degrees. Hear from the miners themselves in this video, in which miners from Coeur Mining and CONSOL Energy speak about their experiences.
