Coeur Mining: Supporting First Responders throughout the COVID-19 Crisis

The mining industry has particular expertise in health and safety – and the COVID-19 crisis has made that expertise even more vital. In fact, mining companies are helping support the health and safety of first responders, healthcare workers, and the communities they serve.

Coeur Mining has made a number of contributions to the communities in which it works. Its efforts have included donating hand sanitizer, masks and gloves to hospitals and non-profits; supporting the construction of a drive-through COVID-19 testing center; donating a wash car to serve as a decontamination unit; providing food for families and individuals who are in need; matching employee contributions to Project C.U.R.E., an organization providing support to front-line workers; and supporting small businesses and organizations focused on recovery in its communities.

Coeur’s operations include the Palmarejo gold-silver complex in Mexico, the Rochester silver-gold mine in Nevada, the Kensington gold mine in Alaska, the Wharf gold mine in South Dakota and the Silvertip silver-zinc-lead mine in British Columbia.

Coeur Mining actively participates and is certified in NMA’s CORESafety safety management system, an industry-wide partnership built on a foundation of leadership, culture and health and safety systems.
